What Are You Doing with Your BIG Dream?

By Mark Harris

Recently, I was struck by the question at the end of a Harvard Business Review article entitled, The 4 Kinds of Leaders Who Create the Future. In it Bill Taylor writes, “In any field, leaders who move their organizations forward are the ones who can re-imagine what they’ve always done, refresh and reinterpret the products and services they offer, and unleash bold experiments about what comes next. Are you that kind of leader?”

Isn’t that a great question?

What Are You Doing with Your BIG Dream? 1

I think about the future a lot. I imagine what it would be like to live in a world where people are blessed by God because they follow His ways. I dream about Christians living out God’s principles in such a way that the contrast between their lives and the lives of those who ignore God are so vivid that only a fool would not consider following God. I think about what it would be like to live in a city whose laws, ordinances and policies are aligned with God’s ways, allowing the windows of heaven to be poured out on every person in our city.

Reading passages like Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us…” makes my imagination explode with the possibilities. Can you imagine – God wanting to do exceedingly, abundantly more for us than we could ever dream?

Speaking of dreams, what are you doing with your BIG dream? Ephesians 2:10 says, “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”  Do you realize that God created each of us to do the good things which He prepared for us before we were ever born? Imagine that!

We have each been given a purpose by God and with each purpose comes a big dream. Some people have described it as an unquenchable longing or desire deep within their hearts. It will be different for all of us, but we each have been given a dream and the capacity to accomplish extraordinary things in our lifetime. Most Christians just haven’t learned how to follow their dream – yet!

4Tucson was created to help you fulfill your big dream. We want to help you discover your purpose and fulfill it in your lifetime.

Do you dream about what ought to be? Do you see things around you that should be different? Do you dream about God using you to change the world around you? Those longings in your heart are a clue to your purpose. 4Tucson is a safe place for you to share your dream with others and to explore various ways to fulfill it.

4Tucson is a safe place to challenge the status quo. We call it a divine discontent. Those who create the future are often compelled by God to do so by challenging the way things are currently being done. Can you imagine God having prepared you for such a time as this? Can you imagine God using you to discover the answer to one of our city’s most difficult and systemic problems? Can you imagine people being blessed because you fulfilled the purpose for which you were created?

4Tucson is about living the life God created for you, right now. 4Tucson is about meeting other Christians who are passionate about what you are passionate about. Your dream is ahead of you. You and I must each run the race set before us. We will never know all the possible ways God will use us until we start moving toward our big dream. All my life I have had people tell me I couldn’t possibly make the changes I dream about. Maybe you have experienced people telling you that your dream is impossible, too. Personally, I have determined that I will not live my life in regret. I will not wonder what could have been if only I had tried. I will not let others determine what is possible for me. As you read this, I am hoping that you do not want to live in regret either.

Over the last several months, 4Tucson has re-imagined, refreshed and redefined our organization to move it into the future. We are inviting fellow dreamers, innovators, those who are unsatisfied with the status quo and those with a deep desire to fulfill their purpose. Are you that kind of leader?

The leaders in 4Tucson see God stirring in our city. We believe God desires more for us. If you are that kind of leader, would you join 4Tucson and help us create the future?

If you are that kind of leader, I would encourage you to get started now, by clicking this link:
