While we cannot see them, radio waves are all around us. We know they are there because we can turn on a radio, and those waves are captured and turned into sound that we can understand.
Similarly, God’s presence is all around us. Luke 17:21 teaches us that “the kingdom of God does not come with observation, nor will they say, see here! Or see there! For indeed the kingdom of God is within you.” We cannot see the presence of God, but if you are follower of Jesus you can tune into Him through prayer. He will make His presences known to you in a way you can understand.
For example, when you feel lonely during these times of isolation, in Hebrews 13:5 Jesus reminds us that, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” When you are lonely call out to Him. “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him…” Psalm 145:18. When we are worried, God’s presence comforts us. “In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comfort delights my soul.” - Psalm 94:19
Isolation and boredom often opens us to temptations we otherwise would not consider. When we are tempted, God’s presence helps us do the right thing. "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear ... He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." 2 Corinthians 10:13
Another benefit of tuning into God’s presence in times of need is that He is our Encourager. In the Good News version of the Bible, Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is near to those who are discouraged. He saves those who have lost all hope."
I don’t know what you are experiencing right now, but God is going through it with you. You are not alone! The Bible clearly reveals to God’s presence is all around us. He understands your loneliness, your fears, your discouragement, even your temptations.
“How do I tune into God’s presence,” you may be asking? Acts 3:19 says, “Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”
