|Friends & Pray-ers,|
This will be a very short newsletter. Last night was the beginning of Rosh Hashanah or the Feast of Trumpets. It is interesting that when studying the Jewish calendar and Jewish days – a new day begins at sundown and ends at sundown. This is found in Genesis with the Lord creating the Heavens and the Earth. Genesis 1:3 has the first 6 statements – each found after the completion of the day’s creation: “And there was evening, and there was morning – the first day.”
10 Days of Prayer is now underway. If you are able to attend, please check out any one of the events listed on the link below. Sometimes there are some last minute changes which won't be reflected in this link. However, I would like to share that Ironwood Hills Church will be hosting a prayer time on Wed. Sept. 8th from 5:30-7:30pm. They are located at 2245 W. Ironwood Hill Drive in Tucson.
I do have some prayer requests:
Pray for the 10 Day events and their respective leaders/hosts. My heartfelt prayer has always been for the Lord to be honored & glorified in everything we do.
Continue to pray for what may be taking place with the refugees from Afghanistan. The following came from my former pastor in Texas who is now a chaplain in the military: I am Ch Scott McKay with the 379 Air Expeditionary Wing at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. Our base has become the epi-center of the Afghan evacuee efforts. The best way to describe the situation is Hurricane Katrina (a devastating storm not unlike Hurricane Ida last week) but with no warning and every day feels like the trading floor of Wall St during a crash. I am requesting that you pray for all the military members who are supporting this operation. We are overwhelmed and pushed beyond exhaustion. We need strength, perseverance, patience, health and compassion as we serve. Pray also that the AUAB Chapel Team be filled with the hope, joy and overflowing love. It is a historic moment and we want the refugees and our military members to experience the love of the Father through us.
Pray for Back to Church Sunday on Sept. 19. This is coming on the heels of 10 Days. I believe our prayers for one another, our churches and the city will have an impact on lives we don’t even know about. Pray that people will have a desire to return to church or perhaps visit one for the first time. Pray that they will feel welcomed. Pray they will sense the power of God’s presence about them. Pray for the one who may be, right now, making a decision to accept Jesus/Yeshua as Lord & Saviour.
Pray for the Prayer Domain (and for me) as I seek the Lord’s wisdom on what direction He wants us to go in. The newsletters will continue but I also believe there is more to do. Please pray that I be obedient to His leadership & guidance.
Blessings & Shalom to each and every one of you!!!
