Today we solemnly celebrate Memorial Day – a day to pay tribute to those who have given their lives defending our great nation.
Memorial Day originated after the Civil War as Decoration Day. In 1971, Decoration Day was officially changed to Memorial Day and declared a national holiday by an act of Congress. Over 1.3 million Americans have lost their lives in battle since we became a nation. The cost of freedom has not been cheap.
The United States of America is founded on Godly principles. In our Declaration of Independence we recognize that "
all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights.”
As a nation, we have always believed these and many other time tested truths are worth fighting for.
At this moment in history, we face an enemy that can eliminate freedom as swiftly as war. That enemy is an ideology that has crept its way into the fabric of American society like a cancer. It replaces God as our sovereign creator with pseudo science. It denies God as the source of all our freedom. It rejects that God created us in His image, yes, male and female. It divides people by race, sex and nationality. It suppresses thought and conscience. It has turned our schools and universities into centers of indoctrination that profess teaching of Marxist philosophy.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”.
We must not let those who have given their lives for our country to have died in vain. We, as a free people, must not only fight with weapons of war on the battlefield, we must fight with weapons of truth and justice at all levels of government and society.
As we bow our heads in remembrance for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice, let us vow to stand tall for the freedom they so valiantly fought and died for.
