Prayer for Protection

Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech ha-olam
Blessed are you Lord, our God, King of the Universe.
Abba Father, I am so grateful that you are on your throne, aware of all that is going on around us. I thank you that we worship the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords; the One who is all knowing, all powerful, everywhere. Abba Father, I lift up before you my fellow pray-ers and intercessors. We are living in difficult times right now and I pray for your strength and perseverance to be manifested into deeper levels of their lives. May you draw close to them as they spend time with you, seeking your counsel. Bring greater revelation as they spend time in prayer, in worship and in your word. Please protect their hearts, minds, souls and spirits against an enemy whose only desire is to kill, steal and destroy. As they find themselves having to make difficult decisions, I pray Abba that you will provide them the confidence of knowing you are with them. Your word states, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. During times of trial, I pray Lord you will recall to their memories 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” I pray they will not grow weary in their praying but instead feel energized and empowered while in your presence. I pray, Abba, you will grow and mature their gifts and talents to minister, when called upon, to your people. I pray your protection over their health, families and relationships. Fill them with your joy, hope and love! Bestow upon them your Shalom, your peace – especially when eyes inadvertently turn towards the waves (ref. James 1:6 or Matt. 14:29, 30).
B’shem Yeshua, Omain
In Jesus Name, Amen
My friends, there is so much going on around us – it’s enough to make us go cross-eyed. All we have to do is look at newspaper headlines, or watch the news on TV/Internet. Sometimes it seems like decisions are made in the moment without thought of what the effects of those decisions could be. This is found in our governments, workplaces, churches and even families. Some 18+ months ago, we were faced with the beginnings of a serious pandemic. No one, especially in leadership, likes to be caught not knowing what to do. And we’ve all seen the chaos that ensued. Now, we are in the midst (my personal opinion) of an even greater pandemic. This pandemic is called fear. Fear manifests itself in several different ways: through anger, angst, worry, frustration, just to name a few. We see this affecting every segment of our society – and it seems to be growing.
I believe we who claim Jesus as Lord are in the midst of a spiritual battle as referenced in Ephesians 6:12, For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. That is why Paul instructs the reader to put on God’s armor to take your stand against the devil’s schemes (vs11) and to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (vs18)
It is important we stay alert to what is going on around us. We see how this fear is even affecting the Body of Christ. It is causing dissension (disagreements, discord) ranging from covid to how we view and/or interpret scriptures. There is a kind of deception alluded to in Matthew 13 when Jesus explains the meaning of the Parable of the Sower. This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.” (vs13) I think this is what many of us are observing right now in our society, a cloud of deception making it difficult to see God’s truths. We need to be careful and protect ourselves from those who speak with less than honorable intentions. You may ask, “How do we know who or what to believe?” The only way I know of is to continually ask the Lord for wisdom and discernment in all things. I John 4:1-3 states, Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
If you are like me, you may be thinking, “But, what I’m concerned about is not found in the Bible.” A particular issue may not be in scripture, but I am confident that ways to address said issue can be found in the scriptures. So, please stay alert; keep your plumb-line, your focus, on Jesus/Yeshua. If you do not receive answers immediately, keep persevering in your prayers, keep reading God’s word. You will receive the guidance needed.
