June Prayer Domain Newsletter:
Praying for Healthy Monsoon
|Greetings fellow pray-ers,|
Before getting started, please join me in praying for a healthy and abundant monsoon season for the entire city and the outlying areas. We are often reminded that we have been in a drought for several years. Let’s pray that this summer we begin to come out of this drought – through the power of prayer!
This won’t be a long newsletter. The last few have been a bit intense and I think my brain is needing a breather. Or, perhaps the 113 degree weather has made me slow down.
HOWEVER, I do want to mention a couple of events we’re beginning to work on which I hope will be of interest to everyone.
September 6-16 will be 10 Days of Prayer. This encompasses the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur – two of the seven moadim or appointed times, found in Leviticus 23, when the Lord tells his people “to do no regular work” and to “bring offerings made by fire”. Rosh Hashanah is also known as the Feast of Trumpets and Yom Kippur as the Day of Atonement. As this 10 Day event gets closer, I’ll be sharing prayer activities that will be taking place during this time. I will also write about the significance of these two moadim (appointed times) and how Jesus/Yeshua is reflected in them.
On October 30th, 4Tucson will be partnering with Family Life Radio, 104.1, for a time of prayer. The intent is to encourage people, on the Saturday BEFORE Halloween, to encircle Tucson with prayer. This can be done by car, bicycle, walking or any other mode of transportation you might have. Prayers can take place literally around the entire city (by following mapped route because unfortunately Tucson doesn’t have a “loop” as many other large cities do), praying on the bike paths along the Rillito and Santa Cruz Rivers, circling the university or Reid Park, and the list goes on. This event will be also be promoted on Family Life Radio. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.
The next Prayer Fellowship will be on Tuesday, July 27th. This will be in-house at 5151 E. Broadway, on the 16th or 17th floor. I’ll have more information next week.
Please keep all these events in your prayers.
Blessings & Shalom,
