On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’"– John 7:37-38
God is our source of life. Fellowship with God, intimate relationship with Him, gives us the fruits of the Spirit. Among these are love, joy and peace, the very things all of humanity longs for. God’s life is abundant. That is its nature. If we keep in fellowship with Him, we are filled to overflowing.
From that overflow comes our deep longing to express our love for Him. This longing is satisfied, according to God’s design, by glorifying Him. This is our completion, the purpose of life fulfilled.
Fulfilling our purpose means loving others by serving them as the Spirit leads us. The reward of a fulfilled purpose is the completion of our joy. This is how we put the love of Jesus on full display and feel His delight in us because we live for Him. He is our source of life and our purpose.
Do you see the life-giving cycle? We come to Jesus with our thirst, He fills us and streams of living water flow from us. Joy is made complete in living for Him. Naturally, we’re hooked. We seek more. The life journey is no longer waiting for Heaven, but one filled with opportunity. Say goodbye to a life of survival.
Fulfilling our purpose is living the abundant life, the life lived out of love for Jesus and for the joy of pleasing our Father. That’s why we’re on this mission, to help Christians fulfill their created purpose of loving God and loving others.
When He calls us to glorify Him by fulfilling His purpose for our lives, our resounding “yes!” comes from a heart overflowing with love for Him. Do you want to experience the abundant life God has for you? Come to Him with your thirst and ask for Him to fill you to overflowing.
Would you pray this prayer along with us?
