City on a Hill: The Journey of the Pilgrims is the result of a collaborative effort to produce a meaningful program for the community in honor of Thanksgiving. It began as a compilation of songs, skits, and poetry woven together with narration and eventually grew into a full musical production with costumes and sets as well as original music.

It chronicles the arduous journey of the Pilgrims from England to Holland and finally the New World in their desperate search for a land where they could worship God freely and raise their children accordingly. It celebrates the miraculous friendship with the Native Americans that ultimately saved the Pilgrims, and it emphasizes the essence of Thanksgiving and its importance as a national holiday.

Our vision is to present an engaging musical presentation of a historical event that encourages our community to hope in the midst of extreme hardship, that educates and inspires the next generation to believe for the impossible, and that reminds us of the original vision to be a “city on a hill.”
