Definition: Natural Resource Management is the implementation of effective policies for the management of natural resources such as land, water, soil, plants and animals, with a particular focus on how management of each affects the quality of life for both present and future generations (stewardship).
Challenges/Issues: Natural Resource Management recognizes that people and their livelihoods rely on the health and productivity of our natural resources and their actions as stewards of the land play a critical role in maintaining this health and productivity. Environmental Resource Management is the management of the interaction and impact of human societies on the environment. Stewardship is the high value placed on responsible planning and management of all our community resources for the benefit of its citizens.
