Back in February I sent out a survey to help me learn more about you. In retrospect, I found it cumbersome and I completely understood why so few filled it out. I know it is only the beginning of November, but for the next few weeks I will pose two questions.

This past Friday I attended the “Reclaiming Hope” Conference at Pantano Church. On Saturday, I attended Fresh Start at TCC, tabling on behalf of the Prayer Domain. I’d like to share one or two of my takeaways, relating them to prayer.

As we wrap up discussing the “wait or no” to our prayers; there are three truths that bear repeating from last week’s newsletter:

1.      The importance of receiving Jesus/Yeshua as Lord; having an on-going relationship with Jesus
2.      The importance of believing that God’s word (the Bible) is true
3.      The importance of believing “….We are God’s children….and co-heirs with Christ…” Romans 8:16-17

It does not set well when the answers to our prayers are not what we were looking for. We want answers; we want them now! If I don’t get what I want, to me it then becomes obvious the Lord does not care about me. But….does this mean that God doesn’t love or care for us? 

We prayed over our city as the sun was going down and the lights of the city were coming on. We prayed for victories and healings to take place within the people. We prayed for each event of the 10 Days, praying that people attending would sense the power of God’s presence.

Sources of integrity and truthfulness are out there, we just have to look. Christians have taken and will continue to take a stand, and be of influence within this medium of communication. The Lord in His infinite wisdom gave man the ability to create and what an awesome gift that is. I pray all who are blessed in this area will use their gifts and talents to Glorify God, not to create greater separation from God.

Sukkot was intended to be a yearly reminder of God’s provision for his people while they were in the wilderness those 40 years. Sukkot is also an indicator of what is yet to take place – the Lord, Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha’Maschiach, “tabernacle-ing” amongst his people. Jesus’ last words in scripture: Rev. 22:7 – “Behold, I am coming soon.” Rev. 22:20 – “Yes, I am coming soon.”

Continue to pray for what may be taking place with the refugees from Afghanistan. The following came from my former pastor in Texas who is now a chaplain in the military: I am Ch Scott McKay with the 379 Air Expeditionary Wing at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. Our base has become the epi-center of the Afghan evacuee efforts. The best way to describe the situation is Hurricane Katrina (a devastating storm not unlike Hurricane Ida last week) but with no warning and every day feels like the trading floor of Wall St during a crash.

We are in the countdown phase of 10 Days of Prayer. It begins in six days. All the events listed on the 10 Day link below are wonderful opportunities to come together with others to pray.
